Forget global warming...

Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.
Met Office climate models show there should have been 'steady warming from 2000 until now'. 'The real issue is whether the model itself is accurate.'

The Sun is now heading towards a 'grand minimum' in its output, threatening cold summers, bitter winters and a shortening of the season available for growing food.
'World temperatures may end up a lot cooler than now for 50 years or more,'

World temperatures have fallen by more than half a degree since the end of last year.


'We're now well into the second decade of the pause,'
said Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. 'If we don't see convincing evidence of global warming by 2015, it will start to become clear whether the models are bunk. And, if they are, the implications for some scientists could be very serious.'

'If temperatures continue to stay flat or start to cool again, the divergence between the models and recorded data will eventually become so great that the whole scientific community will question the current theories,' he said.
'The responsible thing to do would be to accept the fact that the models may have severe shortcomings when it comes to the influence of the sun,' said Professor Curry. As for the warming pause, she said that many scientists 'are not surprised'.

The Sun was highly active for much of the 20th Century.

"The IPCC Models have been completely wrong."
"There has been no warming as CO2 levels have increased."
"The policy should be to do nothing concerning CO2 for decades."
"In fact carbon emissions may be helpful to mankind."

Anybody breaking a sweat in Tulsa today at 12 degrees above the Jan 30th average temp? P.S. Wouldn't have noticed this except the wife is flying to your town tonight for her mother's 90th and as she was packing I heard her say; "Geez, middle of winter and I'm not even going to need a coat for a while."

-80F in Alaska! All-time USA record low temp almost broken
but thermometer breaks!
Alaska and Canada have been suffering through some of the coldest temperatures on record during the last week.
For example in Circle Hot Springs, AK on Sunday, 29 Jan 2012 the HIGH temperature was a blistering -49°F, breaking the -44°F record which has stood since 1917. It gets better.
That same day in Circle Hot Springs the low temperature was -58°F breaking the old record of -52°F set in 1941 by six degrees.

I just watched the news in Japan...Record snow with more coming!

Snow falls in Rome for first time in 26 years...

The north of the country has also been gripped by snow and ice that is disrupting train travel.Temperatures plunged as low as minus 22 Celsius (minus 7 Fahrenheit), in Trepalle, a village in the Italian Alps.
Snow in Rome came as the death toll across Europe reached 150. Temperatures have plummeted as low as -36c in parts of Ukraine and Siberia.
In Serbia, at least 11,000 villagers are stranded in their homes by heavy snow and blizzards which have hit remote areas that cannot be reached due to icy, snow-clogged roads.

The worst weather is near Serbia's southwestern town of Sijenica, where it has been freezing cold or snowing for 26 days, and diesel fuel supplies used by snowploughs are running low.
Thirty-eight more people have died overnight as freezing weather grips Ukraine, authorities say. The death toll there from the past week is now 101.

Maybe warm is a good thing.

They must have been depending on dogma rather than data.

"The world's greatest snow-capped peaks, which run in a chain from the Himalayas to Tian Shan on the border of China and Kyrgyzstan, have lost no ice over the last decade, new research shows.
The discovery has stunned scientists, who had believed that around 50bn tonnes of meltwater were being shed each year and not being replaced by new snowfall.
The study is the first to survey all the world's icecaps and glaciers and was made possible by the use of satellite data. Overall, the contribution of melting ice outside the two largest caps – Greenland and Antarctica – is much less then previously estimated, with the lack of ice loss in the Himalayas and the other high peaks of Asia responsible for most of the discrepancy.

Unusually cold weather makes living tough in Turkey and Romania
The death toll caused by the Siberian cold wave continued to widen Friday in Romania, to 57 deaths, said the Ministry of Health.Sixteen people died in the last 48 hours, thirteen in the night from Thursday to Friday, while nearly 150 have been treated for frostbite and hypothermia.Some 60,000 people were isolated in the east, their supplies of food and water being depleted, according to local authorities. Fifty communities were without electricity.

Romanian peasant woman Rodica, 41, shovels around one of her car buried in snow, in the affected village of Maineasa, 30 kilometers north-east from Bucharest, Romania, on Friday. Some 13 deaths were register in Romania due to severe hypothermia in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 57 since first cold wave hit the country on 27 January. Heavy snowfalls are expected over the weekend in eastern and south of Romania.
