I like the chart and I really like the indicator (good Bull and Bear market indicators can make all the difference in how we look at the rest of our stuff), but what I don't get is the duration "Box".
Is that just a WAG, or is there a methodology to that? If the latter, how accurate is it historically?

Very nice work and the type the board could use much more of.
It has the same reliability as any TA measurements, FLAG, H&S, TRIANGLES etc.
Two lines are equal in time and angle, parallel. I have posted this type of analysis before, looked different, but basically the same. John Murphy discussed this just yesterday afternoon.
