That chart was broken somehow - I think this one is okay.  Guess we have plenty of time - shouldn't even hit 100T until about 2039 - and it's only monopoly money anyway.  Thank goodness (and Nixon) it's not backed by the promise of gold or silver.

Steadyquest, in "real money" the 1966 deficit has only gone up by 50% in 50 years, from about 10 billion ounces of gold to about 15 billion currently.  The real bubble is in fiat, worthless paper.

Agreed - that's why I jokingly thank Nixon that we won't have to repay that debt with 2.86 trillion ounces of gold (100T / $35).
