I've noticed StockCharts has an option to offset MAs by certain periods. Can anyone tell me what displaced MAs are used for? I've tried googling but haven't come up with much. Thanks.

Joe Dinapoli uses these. I think he uses 3,3 and 7,5. You may be able to find his book or info online.
